Our take

What a buyer should know

Who it suits

The Sun Concept EVO 7.0 Cruise is a Portuguese-built, solar-orientated day boat aimed squarely at the sheltered-water buyer: lakes, rias, coastal bays and the calmer Mediterranean. At 6.98 m on a 2.4 m beam with a 0.4 m draft, it is trailerable in principle, shallow enough for beach-fringed anchorages, and small enough to be handled single-handed. The "Cruise" designation is the point of difference against its Lounge sibling — buyers choosing this one are paying for a layout organised around moving from A to B with a helm position and seating that faces forward, rather than around sitting still.

The caveat that matters

We have to be blunt about the specification gap. The listing publishes hull dimensions and a price and nothing else: no motor output, no battery capacity, no range, no top speed. That is genuinely unpublished rather than something we have declined to repeat, and at €81,570 it is a substantial omission — it is more expensive than its Lounge sibling despite being fractionally shorter, and the reason is not documented anywhere we can verify.

Against comparable European electric day boats in the €70,000–100,000 band, buyers can usually see a kWh figure before committing. Treat any dealer conversation as starting with that question, and do not sign until battery size, motor rating and realistic cruising range are in writing.

Written from the builder’s published specifications and the wider market, not from testing the boat ourselves. Always confirm figures with the manufacturer before committing.
