First fully production foiling powerboat, built by UAE-based Enata Marine, carbon fibre construction. Diesel-electric hybrid: twin 300hp diesel engines drive generators, which power twin electric motors turning the props. Pure-electric mode available for only 10 minutes at 10 knots (marina manoeuvring) — this is NOT a pure-electric boat despite silent-running foiling capability. Takeoff onto foils at 17 knots; foiling reduces fuel consumption 20-50% and generates a claimed 3x less wake than a conventional boat of the same size above 18 knots. Range ~130 miles (113nm) at 30 knots under hybrid power. IYC is the exclusive global sales representative.

Diesel-electric series hybrid: twin 300hp (~224kW each, 448kW combined) diesel engines drive generators; twin electric motors in torpedo-shaped housings drive the props. Pure-electric-only mode: 10 minutes at 10 knots, for marina use. Do NOT classify this as pure electric on comparison pages despite the silent-running foiling marketing.

Our take

What a buyer should know

Read the drivetrain before the badge

The Foiler is listed among electric boats and it should not be bought as one. Twin 300 hp diesels drive generators that feed the electric motors; pure-electric operation lasts about ten minutes at ten knots, which is a marina-manoeuvring allowance, not a mode of use. The 113 nm range is diesel range. Anyone shopping on emissions, running costs or fuel independence should stop here.

Who it is genuinely for

Superyacht owners and charter fleets in Monaco, Dubai and the like. As the first fully production foiling powerboat, carbon-built, carrying eight at 40 knots above the chop, it does something no conventional tender does, and the silence and smoothness while foiling are the point of the diesel-electric architecture rather than an environmental claim.

At €990,000 for 9.75 m the pricing is superyacht-tender pricing, and it should be judged against that market rather than against day boats. The engineering credibility is real; so is the dependency it creates. Foil systems, actuation and control software mean servicing will be factory-led for the foreseeable future, and the resale pool for a nine-metre foiler is narrow. Budget for support as well as purchase, and confirm what coverage Enata offers in your cruising area before committing.

Written from the builder’s published specifications and the wider market, not from testing the boat ourselves. Always confirm figures with the manufacturer before committing.
